Our Unique Approach to First Day Covers
Since 1965, the Royal Mail has recorded moments of national significance through special pictorial stamp issues. When postmarked on their first day of release, these stamps form what is known as a First Day Cover.
At Fine Art Covers, we build upon this tradition by combining original artwork with postmarks from locations of direct relevance to each subject. Every piece is designed to form a cohesive historical narrative, uniting image, location and occasion.

Curated Journey Through British Heritage
This Collection is more than postage; it offers a considered view of Britain’s cultural and historical landscape in the mid-1980s. From the world of British Film to the music of Lennon & McCartney, each First Day Cover reflects a distinct theme brought together through illustration, postmark and story. Individually, they capture moments of interest; collectively, they form a tangible link to Britain’s past.
